It sounds like the beginning of a Phil Mickelson joke, honestly. A man walks to the first tee to greet Phil Mickelson with $100,000. But that's what it will take to play 18 with Lefty this fall. In fact, it might take more than that.

For the next 13 days, there is a charity auction -- proceeds go to Operation Healing Forces -- for a bidder and two friends to play golf and have lunch with Mickelson at his home course in Rancho Santa Fe, California. The current bid is at $100,000, which means the next bid has to be $105,000 or more.

It's a great cause and what looks like could be a fantastic outing with Mickelson. At the very least, you'll have a story (and some stories from Mickelson himself) to last a lifetime. Just make sure you bring another $100,000 to play him with.
