Microsoft has just announced Build 2017 — the company’s annual developer conference. Build 2017 will start on May 10 and end on May 12. This time around, Microsoft will be hosting the conference in Seattle. At the moment, it’s a bit early to speculate what Microsoft will talk about at the event.

As Mary Jo Foley notes, you’ll notice that Microsoft has pushed Build back to May rather than the usual March/April timeframe. This is likely because the company will show off the next major upgrade for Windows 10 at the event. According to one of my trusted sources, Microsoft will possibly show off Windows 10 ‘Redstone 3’ at the event. Along with all the other features the company has planned for Redstone 3, we will likely get a look at the upcoming update to Windows 10’s design, codenamed Project NEON at the event. The software giant is expected to release Windows 10 Redstone 2 (aka the Creators Update) in March 2017 — so, it should not be a huge surprise if Microsoft does indeed show off Redstone 3 at Build 2017 in May.

In addition to Build 2017 details, Microsoft also announced some other info regarding its other developer events. Firstly, the software giant is renaming its Worldwide Partner Conference event to “Microsoft Inspire” — and this event will be held from July 9 to 13th in Washington. Additionally, the company is also combining its Envision conference with Ignite — which will be happening in Orlando next year.

Build 2017 and Microsoft’s other events should, indeed, be very exciting. We’ll be covering them as per usual, so make sure to stay tuned in 2017 as there are lots of exciting things to look forward to.
