The holidays are fast-approaching, and if you have a friend or family member who is a photographer then you know how difficult it can be to get them gifts! Photography can be an expensive hobby, and purchases like lenses and cameras can put a serious dent in your pocket. Fortunately photographers can use all sorts of stuff with their photography, including small stuff and accessories! I have put together a list of some great gifts that are perfect for the photographer in your life.

1. Peak Design Slide – $59

1The Peak Design Slide camera strap is a huge step up from the strap that comes with your camera. In fact, it’s a huge step up from nearly all camera straps! The benefit to this strap, other than it being very comfortable and easy to remove and re-attach to your camera, is that it can be quickly resized with the slide-attachment near the bottom.

2. Signature Prints from Artifact Uprising – $30

2Photographers have a bad habit of not printing their own photos often enough. It can be expensive, and we don’t always have enough wall space! That’s where Artifact Uprising comes in. Here you can create table-top prints, hangable prints, print books, and so much more. The Signature Print series really stands out; solid, sturdy prints that you can hold and feel. And they have gift cards so you can give that photographer friend the gift of printing their own art!

3. Cord Taco Supreme – $35

Cord Tacos3 are one of my favorite accessories as a photographer and geek-who-travels. Not only do they have a purpose, they also have a super cool name! They come in many different colors (however I’m always a sucker for teal).

4. WD Passport 1TB Drive – $65

4When traveling, it’s always good to have a backup hard-drive (or two). For travelers who are tight on space (or just trying to pack light), the Western Digital Passport 1TB drive is a really great option. Not only is it small and compact, it is also powered through the USB hub of the computer. This is excellent news when it is difficult to find (or reach) those pesky wall outlets in hotel rooms!

5. Lastolite 30″ TriGrip Difflector – $70

5Trying to hold up a reflector or diffuser with one hand was a huge challenge before Lastolite took the stage with their TriGrip series. The Difflector dubs as both a reflector and a diffuser, so it’s the best of both worlds! I use a TriGrip regularly with my food photography to diffuse the light coming in through windows; the flat edge keeps it from rolling away!

6. Mindshift Filter Hive – $55

6The Mindshift Filter Hive is the perfect gift for any hard-core landscape photographer who uses filters on their lenses. The Hive is fashioned to connect to a belt or waist-strap of a camera bag, but can be used inside of the bag as well.
